I purchased a Igloo ice maker and the extended warranty from Walmart. The first one failed after 10 days and was exchanged at the store.

The second one lasted about 90 days and was not accepted for return by Walmart as it was outside their return policy or so I was told. The extended warranty sold by Walmart is of no value as you are required to deal with the manufacturer in order to get the unit repaired. The warranty offered by the manufacture is also absolutely worthless as it also requires you to pay the freight both ways. The cost of the freight exceeds the value of the product.

No customer service is even pretended by this manufacture. It is pretty easy for them to offer a warranty that they will never have to honor. There should be some kind of consumer protection from companies that hide behind garbage products that will never be warranted per the system they have in place.

Curtis International also owns RCA, Sylvania, Curtis and Proscan. I will never purchase anything made by any company they are associated with.

Reason of review: Warranty issue.

Monetary Loss: $100.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

My icemake didn't even make the 6 month mark. Don't they test their product information?

This is horrible they make such *** and then welsh on the warranty. I am going to fight for a new one...one way or another I will get a replacement.

Same here!! I love ice and love the ice machine but every 6 months I buy a new one with a warranty which is a joke.

I have 6 now sitting! What a waste....
